CEO
Corrado Agusta is the CEO and Principal of Achernar Assets, an investment group managing a diversified portfolio including real estate, infrastructure, energy, and financial services.
With 17 years of experience in real estate and infrastructure private equity and debt, and the management of his own family office, Corrado has been central in redirecting Achernar Assets strategy from a family-owned holding in to a family-backed investment group.
He holds a Master of Science in Finance from Cass Business School, London.
GRANT RICHARDSON
CFO
Grant is the CFO of Achernar Assets and has over 30 years of experience as a senior executive in financial services businesses.
He previously served as the Chief Financial Officer of the Maitland Group and was responsible for various Group functions including Finance, Treasury, Corporate Governance, Procurement, and Facilities Management.
He is a qualified Chartered Accountant and trained at Deloitte & Touche in Johannesburg. Grant has also worked at investment banks and spent a period as a fund administration manager.
SIMONE MALLARDI
CIO
Simone Mallardi is the CIO of Achernar Assets and is responsible for Private Equity & Alternative Credit Investments.
With 21 years of experience in investment management and research, he previously served as Senior Portfolio Manager at Algebris Investments and Head of European High Yield at Principal Global Investors.
Simone began his career in the Leverage Finance team at Mediobanca and holds a BA (hons) in Corporate Finance from the University of Florence.
ROB WASHINGTON
CLO
Robert Washington serves as Achernar Assets’ General Counsel, primarily overseeing the group’s legal matters.
Mr. Washington brings 30 years of experience in commercial real estate, financing, and investment management from three continents to his work. His background includes both private practice and collaborations with well-regarded institutions such as Nomura, Credit Suisse, and UBS.
He holds an LLB from Victoria University of Wellington.
